Why does a project like this matter beyond just Box Springs? What does it mean for small water systems across California?
Well, I think this creates an avenue or hope for other smaller systems.
A lot of the time, smaller systems are not generally looked at as being able to qualify for some of these maybe grants or funds that are out there for you. So when you have staff from CalMutuals providing additional mutual aid assistance and bringing people that have the wherewithal to be able to apply for that funding, I think that creates a pathway for other smaller systems to know, like, hey, there is assistance out there. We just got to get the right people connected to ask the right questions.
